Our aims

The Group aims to bring its combined experience and skills to bear on the following

• Research into the contribution of design and design education in low income economies
• The application of research outcomes through the conduct of action research projects
• The evaluation and dissemination of the outcomes of the group’s work
• Promotion of the group’s aims and outcomes

Our objectives

The Group’s objectives are

• To conduct multidisciplinary projects in partnership with other groups and agencies including those based in low income economies
• To organise conferences, seminars and workshops
• To influence policy and decision-makers in development and developing contexts
• To collect and publish examples of validated research and case studies of practice in the field
• To provide means of communication for academics and practitioners in international development
